Description
Gilding the Lizard is a one-page tabletop roleplaying game about adventurers on a quest to become dragons! It is designed for classic dungeon-crawling fantasy adventures in one-shot or campaign format. Dragons are the mightiest of all creatures. Each dragon has the power to infuse gold into their body, using the essence of the precious metal to grow stronger. But dragons are not the only animals with this ability - it is the power of all sauropsids! Any lizard, bird, turtle, or other sauropsid can wield the awesome power of gold, if they can get their claws on enough of it. You’re a sauropsid adventurer with ambitions to transform into a dragon. To do so, you’ll need to absorb a sufficiently large hoard of gold. Venture forth, seize your fortune, and become a dragon! If your skills fail you, you can fall back on luck. On a failed die roll, you may go Double or Nothing and flip a coin to either double your roll or have it drop all the way to a critical failure! For play by one or more players and one game master, with one twenty-sided die and coin per player.
