Calamity Hex

Description

Calamity Hex is a hex tile space exploration game. A high risk high reward mining game with a hint of urgency as players must move themselves from they're home world Planet Dog Bone before a volcano destroys everything. Players score big by building up the largest population on a newly discovered world. Players will need to obtain several different resources in order to build that can be mined. These resources have end game value as well. Players can also score points by achieving public objectives that are different on every game. Being a tile drafting game players will build a new map every game. Movement and actions are more similar to Hero Quest with open movement and actions granted to any units on the board. Calamity Hex also contains a Quacks of Quedlinburg type of mechanic for players who are behind and need to catch up. —description from the designer
