Magik Realm: Lite

Description

Magik Realm: Lite is a free-for-all card battle game for 2 to 10 players (4 to 6 players is recommended) in which each player attempts to be the last one standing. Inhabit a world mixing medieval fantasy, sci-fi, childlike whimsy, and the mundanity of real life. At the start of the game, each player selects one of ten asymmetric character classes. Options include a Knight, a Mage, a Rogue, a Baby Buffalo, or even a Crazy Cat Lady. Each class provides a unique passive ability and a unique weakness and resistance pairing. Every turn, you draw one card from the shared deck and play one card (with some exceptions). Sometimes that card puts you at a massive advantage, stalls, slowly whittles an opponent, or straight up kills you. Hit opponents with swords, magic wands, freeze rays, stab them with a narwhal, place bombs on them, summon a demon to drag them to the underworld, or risk it all on a coin flip. One card even lets you invent your own effect on the spot, if agreed upon by the table. In addition to RPG-inspired combat, the deck features a few Russian Roulette cards that kill you when drawn. Some you can see coming, others catch you by surprise. Depending on your class, you might even want to draw them. When a player’s HP reaches zero or they are killed by another means, they are (usually) out of the game. The last player alive wins the game. —description from the designer
