Description

Kernel Panic: Exfiltrate Edition is a push-your-luck card game for 2–8 players in which everyone is a hacker racing to exfiltrate data from a shared network. On your turn you draw cards from the Network deck. Data cards — Credentials, Personal Data, Financial Records — are worth points, but only if you bank them before your turn ends. Draw an Alarm card (Firewall Triggered, IDS Alert, SOC Alert, and others) before you bank and you bust, losing everything you drew that turn. After every card you face the same decision: bank your haul and end your turn, or push your luck and draw again. Each player also holds a hand of Tool cards — hacker abilities such as VPN, Rootkit, Proxy Chain, Encryption, Ransomware and Worm — that let you bend the odds, protect your banked data, and steal or sabotage opponents. There is no player elimination; the first player to bank 15 points wins. Kernel Panic plays in 15–30 minutes, teaches in a couple of minutes, and draws its theme from real cybersecurity concepts. —description from the designer
