Description

Q.E.D. (Quod Erat Demonstrandum) is a fast-paced mathematical card game where players race to prove an equation before anyone else. Each round has a Round Objective number, and players use Number and Operator cards to construct a valid equation that equals that objective. The game blends arithmetic, timing, and tactical decision-making, rewarding players who can formulate solutions quickly while anticipating opportunities created by other players' discards. On your turn, you draw a card and attempt to complete a valid equation. If you cannot, you must discard a card, which may inadvertently help another player. Players can also interrupt the normal turn order with a Mathjack, intercepting the most recently discarded Number or Operator card to create a three-card equation, or immediately declare Q.E.D. whenever a newly drawn or discarded card completes their equation. Special cards and scoring bonuses add further strategic depth. The game can be played as a single-round challenge or as a cumulative scoring game. In the full game, players earn points for winning equations, successful Mathjacks, and bonus combinations, while opponents lose points based on the winner's scoring. The game ends when a player's Score Tokens reaches zero, and the player with the highest total Score Tokens at that time is the winner. —description from the designer
