Description

A fast-paced word-finding race game for 1 to 4 players. Be the first player to reach a target score by finding and calling out words formed by following connected arrow paths across the grid. With random setup, each game is completely different. It’s like Scrabble in a maze! Lasercut Wooden Components: • Lasercut wooden tray • 42 directional tiles • 36 A to Z letter tiles • 4 dry erase score cards • 1 dry erase marker. Setup 1. Dump out the tiles and letters face down. 2. Flip the tiles into the tray to form a 6x6 grid. 3. Fill each tile’s hole with a random letter. 4. Decide upon a target score. 5. Decide if advanced mode will be in effect. How Words are Formed A word is created by following the arrows from letter to adjacent letter. Paths will often zig-zag. • Letters must be connected by a valid arrow path. • You may visualize horizontally, vertically and diagonally as each arrow allows it. • A tile may be used more than once in a bounced path. • Words must contain at least 3 letters. • Abbreviations and hyphenated words are not allowed unless agreed upon before play. Places and first names are usually allowed, especially with kids. • An arrow pointing outside the grid will align with a letter on the opposite side of the tray (see examples). • The score for a word is its total point value.   Gameplay All players search the board simultaneously. When a player spots a word: 1. Call out the word. 2. Trace the path with a finger. 3. If the path is valid, score the word immediately. 4. Advanced mode: flip over one letter in the word. When no more words can be formed, perform a new setup and continue playing a new round. Challenge Rule If another player believes a word is invalid: 1. Play pauses. 2. The challenged player traces the path. 3. If the word is valid, they keep the points. Advanced Mode After scoring your word, flip over one of its letters. This ends a round sooner but is more strategic.   Winning The first player to reach the target score wins immediately. For Easier Gameplay Use all of the directional tiles with eight arrows. Solo Play In solo mode, try to find the most words. Scoring is optional. Off-Grid Connections Off-grid connections add more depth and extra spatial thinking to the game. -description from designer
