Description

Players are hunters trying to catch bears coming down from the mountains and put them safely into cages. Unfortunately, foolish tanuki have disguised themselves as bears in hopes of finding food, only to be lured into the cages themselves. Once revealed, the tanuki refuse to leave, creating trouble for the hunters as they try to score points by catching real bears while avoiding penalties from poorly managed cages. The uploaded rules list this as a 3–5 player, 15-minute game for ages 8+. Tanuki wa mō, oshimai desu. Torite (It’s All Over for the Tanuki: A Trick-Taking Game) is a trick-taking game with must-follow play, trump cards, and five suits, with yellow as the trump suit. Players play one card at a time, following the lead color when possible; if they cannot follow, they may play another card, and trump can win the trick. Captured bear cards are placed into cages and score points, but bears that cannot be caged cause penalties. Special tanuki cage cards appear among ranks 3, 5, and 7, creating uncertainty and negative points when they interfere with bear-catching. After all nine hand cards are played, players total points; the game is played over two rounds, and the highest total score wins.
