Spartan Speech

Description

Spartan Speech is a word game where players try to give the shortest possible clues to help a guesser identify a specific answer. Each round, one player is the guesser while the others secretly write clues for a shared hidden word. All answers are well-known proper nouns, including celebrities, places, movies, and brands. However, clues must follow strict limitations: players may only use dictionary words, and may not use proper nouns, numerals, punctuation, contractions, rhymes, or other shortcuts. Once all clues are written, they are revealed from shortest to longest by word count (with ties broken by the number of letters in the first word). After each clue, the guesser has a single chance to name the answer. If the guesser answers correctly, the player whose clue led to the correct guess wins the card. Players take turns as the guesser over a set number of rounds, and the player who has won the most cards at the end of the game wins. —description from the designer
