Description

You're standing at the edge of the vast forest. Some of it is readily accessible and much of it is too deep to get to. You have a team standing by awaiting your direction and you can see at least the beginning of how to approach this rescue operation. You might have a little bit of scouted information to work with and not all your scouting teams have checked back in yet, but it's time to get to work while there's daylight. Other than what's hidden in the depths of this forest, what happens next is all in the Draw Deck, and how you manage the situation as it evolves. Your Draw Deck is composed primarily of Lost, Seekers, and Beasts. You'll need to cover Lost and Beasts with Seekers of equal-or-higher #value to discard them. You have several Specialists with unique abilities and there are a few powerful artifacts you'll uncover in the forest. There are also roving Consuming Mists which may appear at any moment. Orginially designed for play with a standard deck of poker cards, plus jokers. This is a Beat-Your-Own-Score game, technically, in which your score is the number of Lost you've failed to find. So, really, any score above 0 is considered a Loss. There is an additional, separate campaign-style variant and myriad levers for adjusting difficulty to taste - this can be a morning-coffee-stretch or an epic, impossible odyssey. Tools are included in the additional content for tracking these "settings," so you can repeat the ones you really liked. —description from the designer
