Detectorists

Description

Detectorists is one of the 8 games in Dr. Finn's Book of Two-Player Strategy and Word Games. The game consists of one game sheet and requires no other components -- just a pencil for each player. In this game, players deploy detectorists on the beach in search of coins, watches, and rings. On a turn, a player draws a surveyor line along the beach area to create smaller areas. Players then deploy detectorists in an effort to control the areas that are more valuable to them. Each player has a secret scoring condition that is revealed at game end, so you are never quite sure who will win until the end. -description from designer
