The Conflict Resolution Game

Description

In the conflict resolution game, players move around a board or take turns drawing scenario cards that describe common disagreements (like sharing, teasing, or differing needs). Each scenario prompts you to use specific peace-building strategies such as apologizing, compromising, listening actively, respecting differences, or finding a win-win solution. On your turn you read or discuss a situation, decide which skill best addresses it, then explain your approach. Players earn points or advance spaces when they choose thoughtful, collaborative responses. Facilitators (or the game rules) guide the group through lessons on each conflict-resolution skill before or during play. How to Win or Succeed Winning isn’t about beating other players in the usual competitive sense — it’s about building the strongest set of conflict-handling skills. You “win” by consistently choosing solutions that reflect empathy, communication, compromise, and creative problem-solving, and by helping the group reach peaceful outcomes. The player or team with the highest score for effective solutions or positive interactions at the end is the winner. Points are awarded by a designated judge like a teacher or parent or other player.
