Description

The duellist demands satisfaction. Honour, for him, is an appetite. The Duellists Swashbuckler is no ordinary set of rules. In all respects it is different, from the focus on individual characters to the mechanics that seek to replicate the flow, tension and deadliness of combat with swords. Swashbuckler allows you to experience duels, a dangerous game of sudden death dressed up as an honourable answer to supposed insult. Swashbuckler takes you from the dirty fighting of the Elizabethan era, through the intricate world of the C17th fencing masters to the rousing chaotic running brawls between Dumas' Musketeers and the Cardinal's Guard. No ruleset would be complete without the sabre slashing world of Ridley Scott's The Duellists where the art of the duel is only eclipsed by the dashing uniforms of the protagonists. Swashbuckler has four levels of rules, each increasingly more complex, each designed to reflect the style of duel from that time, building on one another to recreate a challenging game that will thrill and frustrate in equal measure. —description from the publisher
