Description

Players take on the role of factory operators managing a volatile pump system that’s on the verge of blowing! Through careful coordination and timing, players must work together—or against each other—to prevent explosions while maximizing efficiency. Every match card you play could either stabilize the system or push it closer to detonation, so communication and risk management are key to survival. Matching Pump is a trick-taking game for 3–5 players where each round represents the maintenance of an unstable pump system. Players use numbered “Match Cards” and special “Golden Pump Cards” to influence a shared pump management board. Through play, they must manage the position of a pump marker that can trigger “Explosion” or “Extinguish” effects depending on card combinations. Each trick resolves with careful number comparison and color matching, and players score by avoiding catastrophic chain reactions while timing their “Pump” activations for maximum gain.
