Description

Hand made from natural stone, Gravitas is a competitive and artistic stacking game. Players take turns rolling a die to identify stone placement on a growing stack. Suspense and beauty builds with each players addition to the tower. Skill development and strategy directly correspond to a player’s ability to make difficult and amazing balances. In the set up phase, players strategically or aesthetically select their initial pieces from a diverse array of 36 varied stones. Every game piece is hand cut and unique, and each game set offers over 1.9 million different options for any one player’s starting supply of pieces. In the play phase, players roll a die to identify which piece, or combination of pieces, they must play. If a player is unable to play their die roll, a strategic opportunity presents in carefully selecting which tower piece you remove and add to your supply - hint: it doesn’t need to be the piece that’s on top! Whether friction, balance, or unique details of individual stone pieces hold the tower together, it only takes one misstep to bring it all down. Any fallen pieces are added to the supply of the player who tipped them. Some players choose to play collaboratively in pursuit of art and precarious balance, and some play competitively, setting traps and using slopes, pivots, or cantilevers to eliminate areas for opponent placement. A player wins when they use their last remaining piece… unless gravity intervenes. —description from the publisher
