Description

Ever wonder why ice cream sales and drowning deaths both spike in summer? In Correlated, players use real statistical correlations to craft the most creative and completely ridiculous causal explanations they can think of. Each round, players select a correlation card showing two variables that actually move together in real-world data. They then present their theory explaining why one obviously causes the other. The Chief Statistician judges which explanation is most creative, convincing, or entertaining. Confidence beats accuracy every time. The game uses over 100 real correlations sourced from Tyler Vigen's Spurious Correlations database. Players don't need any statistics knowledge—just creativity and the confidence to defend absurd theories with scientific-sounding language. The first player to collect five published papers (cards) wins. Correlated works well as a party game for casual players or as an educational icebreaker for data teams, making it perfect for anyone who's ever heard "correlation doesn't equal causation" and wanted to prove otherwise—at least for laughs.
