Description

Phylum - The Building Blocks of Life is a strategy game for 2-4 players in which you take on the role of primordial cells and compete against each other in the struggle of evolution. Your cells live in a shared habitat where they spread, interact and compete for resources. Environmental conditions keep changing throughout the game. Adapt to these changes by modifying your cell’s blueprint, learn how to produce more advanced substances from simple building blocks and use these new substances to trigger powerful effects. Each development allows you to advance through the evolutionary tree. At certain points in the tree, you will have to complete challenges - evolutionary milestones - to progress further. The first player to complete the third and final challenge will prevail in the struggle of evolution and win the game. —description from the designers
