Description

In this epic civilization game, players guide their people through 1000 years of medieval history, evolving from humble chieftains with single settlements into rulers of mighty empires. Unlike traditional civilization games with preset factions, each player's nation evolves through branching paths - choose successor cultures each era based on your previous identity, replacing old traits with new powers. With over 160 nation cards creating vast evolution trees, every playthrough forges a unique historical journey as your people transform through the ages. Players wield action cubes representing their leadership capacity, deploying them to expand territories, develop economies, advance technologies, or strengthen armies. Building cities and fortresses grants additional action cubes, while controlling provinces fills treasuries with taxes - creating layered strategic decisions. The economic system challenges players to transform raw resources into manufactured goods while navigating dynamic markets where prices shift with every trade. Military conflicts utilize an innovative battle bag system where commanders must balance risk and reward - committing more forces improves odds, but every draw means losses. The modular hex-based map ensures each game unfolds differently as players explore uncharted lands and compete for valuable territories. Throughout the game, players choose forms of government, align with great faiths, and navigate extensive technology trees. Historical events voted on collectively - plagues, rebellions, golden ages - constantly reshape the world. Victory comes through multiple paths: military conquest, economic dominance, technological advancement, or religious influence. Every decision shapes not just immediate outcomes but the entire trajectory of a civilization's evolution over the course of history. —description from the publisher
