Description
In Hollywood Dream, players enter the glamorous and competitive world of filmmaking. You'll acquire scripts, recruit actors, secure special effects and equipment, and race to release award-winning movies. Strategic planning, timing, and adaptability are key. The gameplay will feel familiar to fans of Viticulture. Drawing inspiration from that title, Hollywood Dream introduces fresh mechanics and new layers of decision-making aimed at enhancing the worker placement experience. At the beginning of the game, players choose two out of four unique investors — similar in spirit to Terraforming Mars' Prelude cards — each offering different starting resources and a preferred film genre. Matching your released films to those genre preferences will earn you bonus victory points. The game revolves around acquiring and completing high-value Movie Scripts, utilizing auctions, managing bonuses, and aiming for Academy Awards in Rounds 3 and 5. Multiple strategic paths are available — whether you're pushing ahead with risky loans (which carry end-game penalties) or playing it safe and steady, there's room for various play styles. —description from the designer
