Description

Marcher: Empires at War, is a tabletop miniatures wargame set in an alternate history diesel-punk sci-fi setting deeply rooted in the retro-futuristic aesthetics of the early 20th century, where the industrial revolution happened much earlier than in real life. The year is 1938 and players will recreate company-level battles from The Great War using 28mm heroic scale miniatures. Marcher is a D10-based alternating activation wargame played on a board the size of a standard dining room table. It features immersive aspects such as armor facing, blast templates, and suppression, but is also designed for relatively quick games. Key features: Armies: Each Player fields armies of infantry, vehicles, and artillery, usually consisting of around 10 unique Units, but can range greatly in army size with a maximum number of Units capped at 20. Actions: Each Unit may perform two different, standard Actions per activation from their available list. Some Units have unique Actions specific to their stat sheet. D10-based Checks: Outcomes of Actions are determined by Checks, which involve the roll of a D10. An unmodified roll of a 1 always fails, and an unmodified roll of a 10 always succeeds. Alternating Activation: Unit activation in Marcher is carried out in an alternating fashion - opponents alternate activating individual units one at a time. Command Squads: Officers are separate models but are attached to squads before the start of gameplay. Each Platoon includes one officer leading them into battle. Measurements: All measurements use the Imperial system and are taken from the bases or hulls of the models.
