Description

This is a journaling and stationery game for two people played across both space and time. One player will be the Reminiscer; the other player will be the Rememberer. To play, the Reminiscer will need a Memory, a 3x5 or 4x6 photograph, a writing utensil (or few), and a stamp appropriate for mailing to the Rememberer. The Rememberer must have a mailing address they can check regularly. The Reminiscer places the photograph face up in the middle space of the Memory, folds one of the three spaces without the tab over the photograph, writes a Fragment on the edge of the space, and draws or writes in the space using the Fragment as a prompt. The paper can be used to trace. The Reminiscer repeats this process using the other two spaces without tabs using different Fragments. Finally, the Reminiscer folds the tabbed space, writes the Rememberer’s address on the lines, places a stamp in the corner, tapes or glues the tab, and places the Memory in the mail. When the Memory arrives, the Rememberer slices the tab and unfolds the spaces slowly, one by one, using the Fragments as hints for recalling and processing the Memory. As the photograph is revealed, the Rememberer can use the Fragments to see the Reminiscer’s perspective of the Memory. If the Memory is processed and spoken or written about from Rememberer to Reminiscer, both players win. It is recommended to play with Memories both players might enjoy recalling and processing.
