Description
An extremely rules-light system that mechanically encourages players to invest in the world of their story. The core philosophy behind this system is that sitting around a table together and telling meaningful stories is one of the most natural and fulfilling things we do as humans. To that end, CURSE is designed to remove as many barriers as possible between the players, the GM, and the spiritual experience of co- creating meaning through storytelling, while still retaining some of the risk, reward, and consequences that a structured rule set can provide. CURSE has very few core mechanics, just three! A simple but engaging system for players to resolve any course of action, no more hunting through your character sheet for the exactly the right skill bonus!Long term character progression that rewards players for taking risks as well and trying their best, including a way to make failiure feel meaningful. Weird Points: a precious resource that makes "it's what my character would do" into the optimal way to play! CURSE is setting and genre agnostic, that means you can use it to tell any story in any tone and theme you can think of. This degree of freedom may seem daunting but the easy to learn mechanics of CURSE were designed to make creating and exploring a world together feel as natural as possible! CURSE is played with a GM and any number of players, pencil and paper, and a standard 7 dice set.
