Index Cards in the Rain A TTRPG Blog by Evey Lockhart This is a blog that eats itself. You'll only ever find a single post below this explanatory bit. If you would like access to the backlog of posts, you can purchase it via the buy button below (epub and basic pdf formats). This is a one time purchase. I can guarantee several posts, but expect to make many more. Human Glue Human Glue: A Cyber Explosions TTRPG Supplement Check Out Cyber Explosions Here! Intro “Listen, the thing about honest work is no matter how big the score, dead fool can’t spend it. You get me?” “So, I whipped up this new stuff based on elk antlers. Weird right? Thing is antlers grew fucking fast, crazy fast. They used to grow and shed them things every damn year. Get the right mix of denucleated stems cells, a little elk DNA, a few repurposed medical nanobots, a little knowledge, and BAM! You got yourself a traumatic injury pan-a-cea! “Shoot that wound full of this orange foam and PRAISE JESUS! because your ass is healed!” -Earl “Horse” Bronco with a pretty typical Human Glue sales pitch. Public education ain’t a thing on the island. Regardless, the wealthy rely entirely on the competence and loyalty of other folks. For the city to be maintained, for the profits to flow, for the wealthy’s insatiable needs to be tended to, rich folks need folks who know what the fuck they’re doing. Just like with healthcare and nutrition (don’t get me started on company clinics & grocery stores), the corporate-fuck-necks dangle the carrot of education to more effectively exploit workers. Not only do the corporate shits get another fulcrum on which to apply force, they get an unbelievable amount of data on how to exploit the next generation too. Earl’s father, Eddie, worked as an accountant for DayGo Convenient Stores (“Your Day goes better with DayGo!”). Earl had no intention of working 65-hour weeks for evil shitheads. From early on, Earl excelled in the sciences. At only 16 years old, Earl enrolled in DayGo University to study Applied Genetics. He dropped out 2 years later, but only after stealing several thousand Giga-monies’ worth of lab equipment. Earl set up shop in a tool shed behind a dour apartment building full of divorced middle managers. He rented it on the down low from the maintenance-guy (an online-gambling-addict perpetually desperate for cash). Eventually, Earl’s ceaseless experimentation resulted in Human Glue! The substance he created healed traumatic injuries in a matter of minutes. The only minor draw-back was that odd scales cover each wound’s surface, like bony scabs. These growths flaked off after a day or two. Except, that wasn’t always entirely true. In a small but significant number of cases, the bony growths continued. One test subject’s entire epidermis became covered in scales. Worse, Human Glue’s upcycled nanobots frequently bricked cybernetic implants and prostheses. Given the side effects, Earl decided to franchise. He taught 3 small-time arms dealers how manufacture Human Glue. He took their 3 Million Giga-monies and moved into a nice but not fancy hotel, The Taupe Spot. It’s around this time (a few years ago) he started going by Horse. In the now, now, most folks know the risks. Still though, when the alternative is certain death, it’s time for Human Glue, bitch! When a character has a significant injury, shooting Human Glue into the wound (or any other convenient body-hole) fixes it completely over the course of 1d6 minutes. It hurts real, real fukken bad, but the shit works. Gain 2d6 Stamina, and Test a germane Advanced Skill (or Luck) to avoid losing consciousness for 1d6×10 minutes. Even death can be cured so long as the brain hasn’t been heavily injured, and you revive the corpse within 7 minutes. It takes 1d6+6 minutes to fully re-alive somepony. The revivification process hurts like a motherfucker. Gain 2d6 Stamina, and Test Luck or lose consciousness for 1d3 Days. A single dose can cost between 1,000-3,000 Giga Monies. After use roll 2d6: on a roll of either 2 or 12, runaway bony growths occlude the skin over the course of 1d6+6 hours (+2 Armor). Those with Cybernetics must make a Luck Test to avoid nanobots destroying their cyber-tech. Horse, Freelance Biochem Scientist Fun Fact: Horse hasn’t used his given name in years. The nickname came from a business associate misremembering Horse’s actual last name. Earl Bronco owes a few loan sharks some money. Horse don’t owe nobody shit. Horse keeps the following on his person almost always: a pistol-sized rail-gun (Damage as Fusil+1), a shortrange EMP pistol (bricks electronics inside a 12’ long, 3’ wide cone, Test Luck to avoid), nice com tab, small vial of cocaine, patent leather lab coat with ceramic plates (Armor 1), and 3,000 Giga Monies. Skill 6, Stamina 7, Initiative 2, Armor 1, Damage as Weapon. Advanced Skills: 2 Applied Genetics, 1 Pathology, 1 Pharmacology. Mien: 1 Suspicious. 2 Tipsy. 3 Bored. 4 Coked Up (Party!). 5 Coked Up (Paranoid…). 6 Thirsty. ©2024-2026 Evey Lockhart. All Rights Reserved. All Cops Are Bastards.
