🤝 Inclusive design ⓘInclusive design is separate from a game’s queer labels. It marks games whose design is deliberately inclusive even when not queer-themed: romance or marriage mechanics with no gender constraint, character creation without a forced gender binary, gender-neutral rules language, or table safety tools. Each marker shows where we found it.

Description
The air is warm and loud with the sounds of cicadas and the thumping bass of the speakers. It is the first party of the summer, and the last party before you all go your separate ways, onto universities, employment, or gap years. You may never see each other again. But you have things left unfinished. Loves you have never admitted. Bodies you haven’t touched. This is your last chance. Everything must go well. It must be the greatest party of your life. But you don’t know about the Fae. They also want this be a night you won’t be able to forget. I’m so sorry. A Midsummer Night’s Party is a one-shot queer TTRPG about unrequited love, summer parties, and transformation. It is inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in which a group of fairies manipulate the hearts, minds, and bodies of a group of young lovers attending a wedding. In this game, you’ll play as teens in the early summer after your high school graduation, attending a party in which you hope to confess your love and hook up with your crush. But the Fae will interfere, changing the party and its guests with their surreal magic. They delight in drama and in unrequited love; will you become a changed person capable of love, or will you wake up in the morning, resigned to your imminent adulthood? This game is chiefly inspired by the Belonging Outside Belonging system by Avery Alder, though it has an option for playing with a traditional GM.
