Description
Your childhood home is a crossroads: not far from the village, not far from the sea. Like their life together, your parents built this house for you. When you were young, it was full of chatter, of life, of song. But now your parents are gone, and so is their buffering distraction. All that remains is you, and the beguiling call of the sea. The Sea Calls, But You Must Not Listen is a solo journaling game that uses tarot cards and wooden blocks to tell the story of an unwitting selkie called from the world they know towards the sea. It was written for the Sinners and Seamonsters Jam. Content notes: This game is framed within the implication of controlling/abusive relationships that underlie most traditional selkie stories. The narrator is untrustworthy, and intends to guilt the player throughout the game. Please take care of yourself in reading and in play.
