Tactics Memoriam is a Tabletop Roleplaying Game (TTRPG) about lost souls seeking salvation in the afterlife of Memoria–a grim and strange purgatory for warriors who failed to achieve a peaceful eternity. The setting is designed to be melancholic and occasionally cruel, but with underlying currents of hope. There is an emphasis on working together, connecting with other wanderers, and Ascending to greater destinies than the cruel world would give you. The Game This is a very customizable and replayable Strategy RPG for 1-5 players, with simple enough mechanics for one person to command multiple characters in combat. It is designed to be very accessible. Playable endlessly with just dice, a chessboard, and the book we seek to create.Creating a character will take only a few minutes. You choose their class, roll for what makes them unique, and get started. You will recruit many others over the course of your journey to command in battle, all with a similar snappy process to determine what brought them here as your number of devoted comrades grows.Combat is quick and satisfying. Your units will work together to win battles both with individual attacks, and concentrating their power together over time to unleash an ultimate move (the Deathly Technique).Between combat your characters will bond with one another and grow in strength before tackling the next challenge, until they Ascend to become their fullest selves–freeing themselves from this oppressive afterlife or committing further to change it at any cost. The choice is yours. Ultimately, Tactics Memoriam is a game of lost souls working together, and finding new allies to face challenging odds. And that necessary teamwork is reflected in the gameplay. Characters are straightforward to play regardless of class. But they are all unique with hundreds of different combinations of traits and skills. They are not superheroes, but rather strivers who have picked up a weapon to face their struggle together. One soul will be crushed by an army. But an army of souls can change the shape of this place. You, the player, will rally these souls for such a cause. Enjoy the game!
