🤝 Inclusive design Inclusive design is separate from a game’s queer labels. It marks games whose design is deliberately inclusive even when not queer-themed: romance or marriage mechanics with no gender constraint, character creation without a forced gender binary, gender-neutral rules language, or table safety tools. Each marker shows where we found it.

  • Character creation free of a gender binary

“The four additional cards are The Abinary and The Nonbinary, to go along with The Feminine and The Masculine cards (for the traditional Man/Gentleman and Woman/Lady cards)”

Description

My place was not always in the heavens, but it was my place, once. To think that so long has passed that the whole of the heavens may have forgotten my name... it chafes worse than this damn oath. The Lie That Breaks the Oath is a solo journaling game requiring one six-sided die, one twelve-sided die, and a Lenormand deck (a themed one is provided for download with the game for those who lack one). You play as a lying celestial beast bound by an oath you did not swear but was instead sworn by someone you once loved. You've changed hands from master to master over the centuries and, as a new master comes to possess your token, you see a chance for freedom. The game is centered around the topics of enslavement, imprisonment, betrayal, dishonesty, loss of agency, abuse, and other violations of consent. Due to the nature of solo roleplaying games and the fact that prompts are determined by interpreting Lenormand cards, the exact content of what appears in the game can vary widely depending on the person and playthrough, but some topics are unavoidable. The Lenormand deck designed for the game is a 40-card deck lacking art, with some possible meanings of the cards on them. The four additional cards are The Abinary and The Nonbinary, to go along with The Feminine and The Masculine cards (for the traditional Man/Gentleman and Woman/Lady cards) and The Mortal and The Divine. Blank card templates have been included for use by those who require them. Love, affection, and, most of all, credit to @RexCapripes for the wonderful assistance with this game.
